Welcome to NHCA
At Northern Hills Christian Academy, we believe education is most effective when home, church, and school work together. Since opening our doors in 2004, our mission has remained the same: to partner with families in providing a Christ-centered education that prepares students academically, develops strong Christian character, and equips them to serve the Lord wherever He leads. Every classroom, activity, and relationship is guided by our desire to help students discover God's truth, grow in their faith, and pursue excellence for His glory.
Our Mission
At Northern Hills Christian Academy, our mission is to partner with Christian families in providing a Christ-centered education that equips students to grow academically, mature spiritually, and develop the character needed to faithfully serve God throughout their lives. We are committed to challenging students to pursue excellence in every area while helping them discover and use their God-given gifts for His glory. Through strong academics, meaningful relationships, and a biblical worldview woven throughout every aspect of school life, we seek to prepare students not only for future success, but for a lifetime of faithful leadership and service.
Our Philosophy
We believe that education is most effective when the home, church, and school work together to nurture the hearts and minds of students. Because all truth is God's truth, a biblical worldview is integrated into every subject, activity, and relationship at NHCA. Our goal is to educate the whole child by cultivating academic excellence, Christ-like character, servant leadership, and a love for lifelong learning. Every classroom, extracurricular activity, and opportunity for service is designed to help students grow in wisdom, strengthen their faith, and become the individuals God created them to be.
Our Core Values
The mission of Northern Hills Christian Academy is lived out through four core values that shape our classrooms, relationships, and school community. These values influence how we teach, how we serve, and how we partner with families to help students grow into the individuals God has created them to be.
We believe every student is created with unique gifts and abilities. Our goal is to challenge students to pursue excellence—not for personal recognition, but as an act of worship and faithful stewardship of the talents God has given them. Through rigorous academics, meaningful learning experiences, and high expectations, we encourage students to strive for their very best in every area of life.
Jesus demonstrated that true leadership begins with serving others. We seek to cultivate servant-hearted students by providing opportunities to care for classmates, support their communities, and use their gifts to glorify God. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic field, through fine arts, or in everyday interactions, we encourage students to reflect Christ's love through humble service.
Character is revealed by what we do when no one is watching. We strive to model and teach honesty, responsibility, respect, and biblical truth in every relationship. Our desire is for students to become individuals whose words and actions consistently reflect their faith in Jesus Christ.
Academic success is important, but lasting success begins with godly character. We intentionally encourage students to develop Christ-like qualities such as kindness, perseverance, self-discipline, compassion, courage, and respect for others. As students grow in both knowledge and faith, our prayer is that they will become leaders who influence their families, churches, communities, and future workplaces for Christ.
Northern Hills Christian Academy is located in Holt, Missouri, and serves families from communities throughout the Northland, including Holt, Kearney, Liberty, Lathrop, Excelsior Springs, Lawson, Cameron, Polo, Plattsburg, Smithville, and surrounding areas. Our central location allows families from across the region to enjoy a Christ-centered education in a close-knit school community where students are known, encouraged, and challenged to grow academically and spiritually.
Every Christian school has a mission. At Northern Hills Christian Academy, we are committed to living out that mission each day through meaningful relationships, academic excellence, and a Christ-centered community where students are known, challenged, and encouraged to grow. Here's what makes the NHCA experience unique.
We believe parents are a child's first and most important teachers. Rather than replacing the role of the family, we come alongside parents as partners in their child's education, encouraging consistent communication, shared values, and a unified commitment to helping every student succeed academically, spiritually, and personally.
Faith is not limited to Bible class or chapel services. A biblical worldview is integrated into every subject, activity, and relationship across campus. Students are encouraged to think critically, seek truth through Scripture, and understand how God is at work in every area of life.
At NHCA, students are more than a number. Smaller class sizes and meaningful relationships allow teachers to know each student's strengths, challenges, and God-given potential. We celebrate accomplishments, provide encouragement during difficult seasons, and create an environment where students feel seen, valued, and supported.
Success is measured by more than grades and test scores. Our goal is to prepare students to become servant leaders who think critically, live with integrity, pursue excellence, and use their gifts to glorify God wherever He leads them after graduation.
Learning extends beyond the classroom. Whether students participate in athletics, fine arts, theater, student leadership, academic competitions, service projects, or other extracurricular activities, they are encouraged to discover new talents, develop existing gifts, and grow in confidence while building lasting friendships.
One of the things families often notice first about NHCA is the sense of community. Students of different ages know one another, teachers invest in students beyond the classroom, and families build relationships that extend well beyond the school day. We believe a supportive, Christ-centered community helps students thrive both academically and spiritually.
