About

Northern Hills Christian Academy (NHCA) opened its doors in August, 2004, with 35 students in grades K-8th grade. The school has expanded in various ways over the last 11 years and currently offers PreK 4 through 8th grade classes. NHCA is located in the Northern Hills Baptist Church’s Family Outreach Center (FOC) which also houses a fully equipped kitchen/cafeteria, full size gym and stage area. NHCA serves students from Holt, Missouri, as well as surrounding areas: Kearney, Liberty, Lathrop, Excelsior Springs; Plattsburg, and Smithville.

All of our teachers are born again believers who are dedicated to teaching from a Biblical World View. They are also certified through either the Missouri Department of Education or the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). NHCA uses the ABeka and Bob Jones curriculum which are Christ-centered textbooks supporting our Biblical World View.

In addition to our core academic classes, a variety of special/enrichment classes are offered dependent on grade level. These include, but are not limited to, computer, music, art, physical education, band, choir, and drama. The school is also a member of the Suburban Christian School Conference (SCSC) and students in grades 5-8 have the opportunity to compete on volleyball, soccer, basketball, track and cheerleading teams. In 2010, a new playground was added with monies raised from fundraising and donations.

“Building Together for Future Generations” has been adopted as the schools motto. There is a very active and supportive Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) which meets monthly and our families are active in both volunteer and fundraising to benefit the school. Our NHCA “family” strives to bring homes, churches, and the school together in teaching and equipping students to serve Christ through Kingdom Education. We look forward to what God is going to do with NHCA in the years to come.

“With God, all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
