Growing in Confidence During the Middle School Years
Middle school is a time of tremendous growth and change. At NHCA, we provide a supportive Christ-centered environment where students are challenged academically, encouraged spiritually, and equipped to become confident, responsible young men and women.
During these important years, our teachers intentionally mentor students as they navigate increasing independence, growing responsibilities, and the challenges of adolescence.
AT NHCA, students grow through:
Building responsibility
Developing leadership
Encouraging biblical decision-making
Growing independence
Forming lasting friendships
Learning to serve others
Christ-centered instruction
Small class sizes
Caring teachers who know every student
Leadership opportunities
Athletics and fine arts
Strong academic preparation
Safe, encouraging environment
Preparation for high school success
Each day, students will spend half of their day in core subject classes. The other half of the day our students rotate through elective classes and science labs. This schedule helps students transition gradually into the learning model they will expperience throughout high school. Depending on grade level, enrichment classes and electives for middle school include Art, Music, Physical Education, Home Economics, Journalism, Foreign Language, Biblical Archaeology, American Government, Financial Peace, Public Speaking, STEM, Apologetics, Drama, and more. Elective courses offered vary each year and are based on student interest.
Middle school students are also offered a variety of extracurricular activities including leadership opportunities, fine arts, and athletics.
GROWING IN CHRIST AND CHARACTER
Our faculty and staff strive to help these students find their identity in Christ as they mature socially, academically, and spiritually. Our middle school classes are designed with a biblical worldview in mind. By the time students complete eighth grade, they are prepared academically for high school, grounded in their faith, equipped to lead with integrity, and ready to use their gifts to serve Christ and others.
